Scotty & Opal

Scotty and Opal Snuggling in my computer chair.

One of Scotty and Opal's many playing battles.

Scotty patiently waiting for us to come home and fill his food dish.

 Opal Snuggling on Scotty.

 Scotty being Opal's blanket.

Scotty snuggling with Mike.

Scotty snuggling under my blanket.  This is very rare but so great.  I was sick this day and he was trying to make it all better with Kitty loves.

 Scotty found a cave.

Sleepy boy found a fuzzy.

Rain

It's raining in Seattle! Some one once told me that living in Seattle would completely depress me because it rains so much. I know it's summer and I haven't gone through a Seattle rainy season, but right now I'm enjoying the rain. It was just a little sprinkle but it smells wonderful.

Clean! That's how it smells and it's a beautiful sent. I love to sit and listen to the pitter pat of all the little rain drops and feel as if with every morsel of dew that lands it's renewing earth/life. While it washes the earth I imagine it is washing the sad and hurt from my soul and tomorrow will be a new day.

Today the rain was a welcomed friend who is comforting and beautiful!

Been a while...

Let's see... A lot has been going on but I'm going to keep out the bad stuff!
Sooo... For the good!

1. Opal's surgery was almost 2 months ago and she is healing beautifully! She zips around the house like there is no tomorrow and still loves to play fetch. Becky says the cat is evil. She says it's something in her eyes. All cat's have an "I'm gonna get you when you least expect it!" type vibe so I don't see it. Opal seems to think that chewing on your hair is fun, and she loves to wake me up from a nice nap by doing so.

2. The car was fixed rather quickly! We aren't driving it cause we still don't need it. So on the side of the road it sits. Wish we could sell it but we owe to much money one it. Once we can, we will trade it and the van in for something new. If we need to get some where and the other person has the car, that person will just have to take the bus. We get a free bus pass through work.

3. Found out I'm going to another nephew or a brand new neice! My brother Fred and his girlfriend are going to have a baby! I've heard that he's over the moon and is soo excited! I've never met Fred's girlfriend but I've heard she's nice and she makes him happy. I guess that's all that matters.

4. Work is going really well. Nothing really new there other than my new team mates. I still really like my job. Although I am really getting tired of dreaming about work. Makes for restless nights.

5. Becky (my step-daughter) is 14 now. I can't even believe it! It just seems like yesterday she was the 5 year old flower girl in my wedding.

6. In one months time Mike and I will celebrate our 8th year of marriage! It's amazing to know that I have been married for 8 whole years. They just flew by! I love that man and I hope things work out quickly so we can expand our family. It's a work in progress!
Anyway, That's about all I have for right now. I'll try not to take so long to post next time.

Love

Poor Opal!

My kitten who likes to walk under foot got stepped on Friday. When I went to check on her she seemed OK. Her toes were alright and nothing felt broken. But when we put her on the floor to get her to walk a round she was favoring the leg and wouldn't bare any weight.

Luckily she had a vet appointment the next morning. Well a simple vaccine turned into a huge ordeal.

The Vet checked out her leg and as Mike and I had feared informed me that her hip had been dislocated. She spent all day in the Saturday in the Vet. She was sedated, xrayed and manipulated to get her hip back in place. They bandaged it and tried to secure the leg enough that it would stay in. Unfortunately once they dislocate a hip it's more than probable that it will dislocate again.

She woke of from sedation and it popped right back out.

Now the only option left is surgery. They will be cutting the ball off the top of her femur and her body will create a false joint. And she has to spend two weeks cooped up in a kennel so she can heal.

Poor Opal has to now go through a lot of pain for a simple little accident. Mike feels so bad! Poor baby!

Keep your fingers crossed everything goes OK!

Uhal 1 Verona 0

Today Mike and I went to look at the couch we are going to buy. A nice girl is selling it on cragslist and she said she is going to save it for us to pick up next saturday.

Then we got home and we were just chilling when a girl with a Uhal clipped our car and ripped the bumper and the head light almost clean off. Mike heard the alarm going off and thought it was some one elses car. This car has been very UNLUCKY for us! The girl that hit us was very sorry she did it and said she would take care of all the damage.

Tomorrow we will look for a auto body garage to fix the damage. I had to be fixed before home to Montana for my birthday! I can't go unless Michael has some way to get to and from work. Unless I'm he's willing to take the bus to and from work.

On cuter news! My cat will practically play fetch with just about anything!

She's adorable!

So I'm starting a blog

Mainly I am doing this for my friends and family that don't have myspace or facebook.

But if you have either of those and would like to add me feel free to. www.myspace.com/jilleans or just look up Jillean Stevens on Facebook.

Today has been a pretty good day!

So far Seattle has been treating us well! Both Michael and I really love it here. Seattle just seems to fit us! I do however miss Montana and all the people there that I love so much!

Both Michael and I work for a company called Speakeasy. We both really enjoy working here. So far Mike has already been promoted. Well sort of...it was more of a lateral move but it still happened non the less. I was pretty proud of him! I'm happy in my position right now and really don't see myself moving for a while. I'd rather enjoy what I'm doing and absorb as much as I can.

My dog Cricket is doing very well here! She desperately needs a haircut but she seems to like living in Seattle. She enjoys the walks we take and really enjoys meeting new dogs. At first I was a little apprehensive to let her interact with them thinking one would pick her up and swing her around like a toy. Seattle is a very dog friendly place. Every one seems to have a dog or they know a dog.

I got a new kitten Sunday. Her name is Opal. I rescued Opal from the local animal shelter. They had her marked down as a little boy so all day Sunday I was thinking of boy names. Then when they went to go neuter her on Monday they realized she really needed to be spayed. I did not find out that she was a girl until Mike went to pick her up from the clinic and sent me a text.

She's really been a splendid addition to our little family. Cricket and her are getting along fine. Opal was not to sure about Cricket but today she walked right by Cricket with out any issues.

The next big challenge is to bring Cotton from Montana and introducing him to Opal. Then trying to keep him as an indoor kitty. He's used to coming and going as he pleases.

Well that's my update for now. I'll blog more when I have another update!

Lots of Love from Seattle <3
